FAHY-WILLIAMS TO PUBLISH NEW CHA TRADE MAGAZINE: CRAFT INDUSTRY TODAY


Elmwood Park, NJ, USA; February 27, 2012 —The Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) is pleased to announce that Fahy-Williams Publishing will be the official partner of its new trade magazine, Craft Industry Today (formerly known as CHA Portfolio).

The premiere issue of the quarterly magazine will debut in April 2012 with a profile of Ben Franklin Crafts & Frames, a 37-year-old retail store in Redmond, Washington. The article, “11 Ways For Retailers To Survive and Prosper” by industry veteran Mike Hartnett is in keeping with the magazine’s focus on the retail side of the craft business.

The magazine will focus on retail buyers of craft products, wholesale distributors, professional crafters and designers. It will feature how-to articles from craft and business experts and practical “news they can use” from the industry insiders. Additionally, members of CHA’s newly launched Experts Program – Georganne Kizer and Rich Bender of Kizer & Bender Speaking!, Tony Ford of ArtFire.com, Joe Rotella of Delphia Consulting, and Jefferson Davis of the Competitive Edge will also provide content on retail, exhibitions, emerging technology, and web optimization.

Particularly notable are new, lower ad rates, “making advertising affordable for any size company,” says Tim Braden, vice president of Fahy-Williams Publishing. “The premier issue also offers an advertising bonus that includes a free new product announcement to accompany any ad purchase.”

Craft Industry Today replaces CHA’s Portfolio, and will be published quarterly. Print and digital distribution of the magazine is expected to reach 9,000 - 10,000 unique individuals each quarter.
